Finding Time

October 14, 2011

Oddly enough, I’ve been doing too much of that lately, finding time. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it can have…negative connotations, even if they are small. For instance, I’ve been so wrapped up in writing and edits that I completely forgot to update my blog this past week. And whenever I remembered, it was either a day I don’t normally post (I try to get something up 2 times a week, either on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday) or it was while I was at work and away from my machine. Of course, by the time I got to my computer, my mind was set on fixing or finishing a particular scene.

So, this post is about finding time outside of writing, to do those things we need to do as writers that don’t necessarily mean putting pen to paper. What I mean is the blogging, the updating websites, the interacting on Twitter and Facebook, etc. I am now faced with an interesting dilemma, in that I have to sacrifice writing time in order to see to my web duties. Again, not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve started making a schedule for myself. From this to that, I write, from that to this, I blog, from here to there, I check Facebook and Twitter, and so on. So far, it’s been working, surprisingly well.

How do you find time away from finding time?
